Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 17 August 2026
These terms govern your use of lwdhospitalfoundation.ca. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
1. Who operates this site
This website is operated by the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation (LWDHF), a registered Canadian charity, Charitable Registration (BN) 13710 5243 RR0001, of 21 Sylvan Street West, Kenora, ON P9N 3W7, Ontario, Canada. Contact: support@lwdhospitalfoundation.ca.
2. What these terms cover
These terms cover the information and features published on this website. They do not replace the Rules of Play, which govern the raffle itself, or the terms of the raffle platform, which govern your purchase.
3. Acceptable use
- Use the site lawfully and do not interfere with it or with anyone else’s use of it.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its hosting.
- Do not scrape, copy or republish substantial parts of the site for commercial purposes without our written permission.
- Do not use the contact forms to send unsolicited commercial messages or abusive content.
- Do not offer, resell or advertise raffle tickets outside Ontario.
4. Intellectual property
The text, layout, graphics and code of this site belong to the Foundation or are used with permission, and are protected by Canadian and international copyright law. You may read, print and share pages for personal, non-commercial use, and quote short extracts with attribution. Our name and logo may not be used without written permission.
5. Third-party platforms and links
Buy Tickets links open the checkout operated by Raffle Nexus Canada Inc. Donation links open external donation platforms. These are independent organisations with their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. When you follow one of these links you leave this website.
6. Tickets, eligibility and jurisdiction
Ticket purchases and membership are governed by the Rules of Play and by the terms of the Raffle Nexus platform. In particular:
- You must be 18 years of age or older and physically located in Ontario at the time of purchase.
- The use of a VPN, a proxy or any other means of disguising your location is prohibited.
- A ticket purchased from outside the permitted jurisdiction is void and is not entered in any draw.
- Ticket numbers are generated by the vendor system and cannot be selected.
- Staff of the Foundation and members of its volunteer board, together with their spouses, children and children-in-law, are not eligible to enter.
This website never accepts payment, never issues ticket numbers and never conducts a draw.
7. Sales are final; refunds
All ticket sales are final. A refund request may be sent to support@lwdhospitalfoundation.ca. Each request is considered individually, and a refund can be made where the request is justified and is received before the draw takes place. Tickets reported to a card issuer as fraudulent are excluded from the draw.
8. No tax receipts for tickets
Tax receipts cannot be issued for ticket purchases, including membership subscription payments, because a lottery ticket is not a gift under Canadian tax rules. Donations made through the channels on the Donate page are eligible for a Canada Revenue Agency tax receipt.
9. Membership subscriptions
Membership is created only where you tick the opt-in checkbox at the Raffle Nexus checkout. The payment method you store with the vendor is then charged automatically for every subsequent draw, for the amount you selected, until you cancel.
To cancel, email support@lwdhospitalfoundation.ca. Cancellation takes effect immediately, no future orders are created and a confirmation is sent by email. A cancellation made after the charge for the current draw has been taken applies from the next draw. Subscriptions with failed or invalid payments are cancelled automatically. Full terms are in rule 17 of the Rules of Play.
10. The site account
An account created on this website is stored entirely in your own browser. It is a convenience for saving preferences and draw reminders. It is not a raffle account: it confers no entitlement to tickets, prizes or membership, it does not record purchases, and it is not connected to the Raffle Nexus platform.
Because the account never leaves your device, we cannot recover it, reset a password or restore it if you clear your browser data. Draw reminders you select affect what is shown to you on this site only.
11. Accuracy of the jackpot figure
Every jackpot figure shown on this site is an estimate. Each Grand Prize is half of the ticket sales for that draw, with a guaranteed minimum prize of $5,000; once ticket sales exceed $10,000 the prize is half of all sales. The figure changes as tickets are sold and is final only when sales close. The vendor’s records are the authoritative record of sales and of the prize amount.
12. Availability and accuracy
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of every inaccuracy. Dates, prizes and figures may be corrected without notice. Any change to a draw date requires the prior approval of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and is published on the site.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Foundation is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of this site, including lost opportunity, lost data or loss arising from reliance on information published here. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including under Ontario consumer protection legislation.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights, or our obligations, under the conditions of our raffle licence.
14. Which document prevails
If there is any conflict between these terms and the Rules of Play or the conditions of AGCO licence # RAF1552544, the Rules of Play and the licence conditions prevail in that order for anything concerning the raffle.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
16. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms. The date at the top shows when they were last changed, and the version published here is the version that applies. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the amended terms.
