Buy Tickets

18+ · Ontario only

Step by step

How it works

Buying a ticket takes a couple of minutes. Everything to do with money, numbers and the draw itself happens on the Raffle Nexus platform — the AGCO-approved system licensed for this raffle.

Buying online

  1. Open the ticket page

The Buy Tickets button on this site opens the Raffle Nexus checkout in a new tab. That is the only place tickets are sold online.

  2. Choose a pack

    $10 = 10 numbers, $20 = 60 numbers, $40 = 200 numbers or $75 = 750 numbers. Two draws in the cycle use a different set of packs.

  3. Confirm 18+ and Ontario

Tick the vendor’s checkboxes. Location services must be on so the platform can confirm you are in Ontario. A VPN or proxy is not allowed and makes a ticket void.

  4. Pay

Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted. Payment is taken by the vendor; this website never handles or stores card details.

  5. Receive your ticket

Your official LWDHF 50/50 ticket arrives by email, with numbers generated by the vendor system in ascending order. They cannot be chosen.

  6. Optional: opt in to membership

Tick the membership checkbox at checkout to be entered in every subsequent draw automatically. How membership works, and how to cancel.

Buying in person

Tickets can also be bought at the Foundation office. Staff complete the transaction through the vendor system, and print a ticket for you if you do not have an email address.

Frequently asked questions

How much do tickets cost?

Ticket packs are $10 = 10 numbers, $20 = 60 numbers, $40 = 200 numbers and $75 = 750 numbers. For the 31 December 2026 draw and the 29 May 2027 draw the packs are $10 = 10 numbers, $20 = 90 numbers, $40 = 200 numbers and $75 = 1,000 numbers.

Can I choose my own ticket numbers?

No. Numbers are generated automatically by the Raffle Nexus system in ascending order from a pre-set starting number, so they cannot be chosen or changed.

What are my chances of winning?

Your chances depend on how many numbers you hold compared with the total number of tickets sold for that draw. Sales continue until the deadline, so the final figure is known only when sales close.

I live outside Ontario but I am visiting. Can I buy a ticket?

Yes, if you are physically in Ontario at the moment of purchase and location services are switched on. Using a VPN or a proxy is prohibited, and a ticket bought outside the permitted jurisdiction is void.

How will I know if I have won?

Winners are contacted using the email address and phone number given at the time of purchase. If contact cannot be made after two attempts, a letter is sent by email. Names and winning ticket numbers are published once the winner’s identity and purchase have been verified.

How is the prize paid?

Every prize is paid by cheque in Canadian dollars. You can arrange to collect it at the Foundation office or have it sent by registered mail to a verified address. An electronic funds transfer is arranged only in exceptional cases where mail cannot be delivered.

What identification do I need to claim a prize?

Government-issued photo identification that matches the details held in the vendor system. A health card is not accepted. A prize is held until photo identification is provided.

How long do I have to claim a prize?

Unclaimed prizes are held in a safety deposit box for six months from the date of the draw. After six months the money is transferred to the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation with AGCO approval.

Can I get a refund?

All ticket sales are final. Refund requests are sent to support@lwdhospitalfoundation.ca, are reviewed one by one, and can be granted where the request is justified and reaches us before the draw takes place.

Who is not allowed to enter?

Staff of the Foundation and volunteer members of its board of directors, together with their spouses, children and children-in-law, are not eligible to enter.

What are Early Bird and Bonus draws?

They are extra draws held during the month, before the Grand Prize draw. Tickets bought before 23:59 CST on the day preceding an Early Bird or Bonus draw stay entered in every later Early Bird and Bonus draw that month and in that month’s Grand Prize draw.

How does membership work and how do I cancel it?

Membership is an optional monthly subscription started with an opt-in checkbox at the Raffle Nexus checkout. The payment method you stored is charged the amount you chose for every subsequent draw until you cancel. To cancel, email support@lwdhospitalfoundation.ca; cancellation takes effect immediately and no further orders are created.

Who is Raffle Nexus?

Raffle Nexus Canada Inc. operates the AGCO-approved electronic raffle system used for this raffle. It sells the tickets, generates the numbers, runs the random number generator, applies Ontario geofencing and handles all payments on its own platform.

Where can I find the lottery licence number?

The lottery licence number is shown in the footer of every page on this site, directly beneath every Buy Tickets button and at the top of the Rules of Play.

Do I get a tax receipt for buying tickets?

No. Tax receipts cannot be issued for lottery ticket purchases. Donations made through the Foundation’s donation channels are eligible for a Canada Revenue Agency tax receipt.

Where does the money go?

Half of all ticket sales is paid to the Grand Prize winner. One hundred per cent of the Foundation’s proceeds pays for capital medical equipment and technology for Lake of the Woods District Hospital.

My ticket has not arrived. What should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder and add the sender to your safe list, then use Manage Order on the ticket platform. If the ticket still has not arrived, email support@lwdhospitalfoundation.ca.

Can I buy tickets in person?

Yes. Tickets can be bought at the Foundation office at 21 Sylvan Street West, Kenora, Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:30, with cash, Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Staff complete the transaction through the vendor system and print a ticket if you have no email address.
