July 2026 Draw pays out $12,340 to a Kenora ticket holder

The first Grand Prize of the 2026–2027 licence cycle was drawn on 31 July 2026 at 10:00 CST.

The July 2026 Grand Prize was drawn at 10:00 CST on 31 July 2026 and paid $12,340 to the holder of the winning number. Two Early Bird prizes of $1,000 each were drawn earlier in the month. The Foundation’s share of the month’s sales goes straight into capital medical equipment for Lake of the Woods District Hospital. Winners are published here once identity and purchase have been verified.

New vital signs monitors now in service at LWDH

Monitors funded by 50/50 proceeds are now in daily use across inpatient and ambulatory areas.

A set of vital signs monitors funded by proceeds from the LWDHF 50/50 raffle is now in daily use at Lake of the Woods District Hospital. The monitors track heart rate, blood pressure, temperature and oxygen saturation, and replace older units that had reached the end of their service life. Equipment like this is bought outright by the Foundation and handed to the hospital.

The 2026–2027 raffle cycle opens

Twelve monthly draws run from 30 June 2026 to 25 June 2027, with Early Bird and Bonus draws every month.

Sales for the first draw of the new licence cycle opened at 11:00 CST on 30 June 2026. The cycle runs twelve monthly Grand Prize draws through to 25 June 2027, each with a guaranteed minimum prize of $5,000, together with Early Bird and Bonus draws during the month. A Bookwalter Retractor Set has been delivered to the operating room at Lake of the Woods District Hospital. The system holds surgical exposure steady during abdominal procedures, freeing the surgical team’s hands and shortening operating time. The purchase was funded entirely from LWDHF 50/50 raffle proceeds.

Since 1992 the Foundation has contributed more than $18 million to Lake of the Woods District Hospital.

Since it was founded in 1992 the Foundation has contributed more than $18 million to Lake of the Woods District Hospital. That total covers diagnostic imaging, surgical instruments, monitoring equipment, beds and mattresses, and software upgrades that keep existing machines in service. The Foundation is run by an eleven-member volunteer board and three staff, supported by more than 2,500 volunteer hours a year.

Video endoscope now in use in ambulatory care

A new video endoscope shortens waiting times for diagnostic procedures close to home.

A video endoscope funded by the Foundation is now in use in ambulatory care at Lake of the Woods District Hospital. The equipment supports diagnostic procedures that would otherwise mean travelling out of the district, which matters for patients coming from communities around Lake of the Woods.
