1. Eligibility

   The purchaser must be 18 years of age or older and must be located in the Province of Ontario at the time of purchase.

2. Standard ticket packs

   Ticket packs are: $10 = 10 numbers; $20 = 60 numbers; $40 = 200 numbers; $75 = 750 numbers.

3. Packs for the 31 December 2026 draw

   For the 31 December 2026 draw only, ticket packs are: $10 = 10 numbers; $20 = 90 numbers; $40 = 200 numbers; $75 = 1,000 numbers.

4. Packs for the 29 May 2027 draw

   For the 29 May 2027 draw only, ticket packs are: $10 = 10 numbers; $20 = 90 numbers; $40 = 200 numbers; $75 = 1,000 numbers.

5. Where tickets are sold

   Tickets are sold online through the Foundation’s lottery vendor, Raffle Nexus Canada Inc., and in person at the LWDHF office at 21 Sylvan Street West, Kenora, ON P9N 3W7, where staff complete the transaction through the vendor system and print a ticket for a purchaser who has no email address.

6. Ticket delivery and numbering

   After payment the purchaser receives an official LWDHF 50/50 ticket at the email address given. Ticket numbers are generated automatically by the vendor system in ascending order, beginning from a pre-set starting number. Numbers cannot be selected by the purchaser.

7. Selecting the winning ticket

   The winning ticket is selected by the vendor’s software Random Number Generator (RNG). The winner is verified against the details recorded at the time of purchase.

8. Notifying the winner

   The winner is contacted using the contact details provided at the time of purchase — the email address and the purchaser’s telephone number. If contact cannot be made after two attempts, a letter is sent to the email address on the order.

9. Publication of winners

   Winner names and ticket numbers are published on this website once the winner’s identity and purchase have been verified. Winning ticket numbers are published on the Foundation’s social media channels immediately after the draw.

10. Identification and consent

    The winner presents government-issued photo identification matching the details held in the vendor system. A health card is not accepted as identification. The winner consents to the publication of their name and/or photograph by the licensee. Where photo identification is not provided, the prize is held until it is.

11. How prizes are paid

    All prizes are paid by cheque in Canadian dollars. The method of delivery is agreed with the winner: collection at the Foundation office at 21 Sylvan Street West, Kenora, Ontario, by prior arrangement, or dispatch by registered mail to a verified address. In exceptional cases, where mail cannot be delivered, an electronic funds transfer (EFT) is arranged.

12. Unclaimed prizes

    Unclaimed prizes are held in a safety deposit box for six months from the date of the draw.

13. Prizes still unclaimed after six months

    If the prize has still not been claimed at the end of that six-month period, the prize money is transferred to the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation with the approval of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

14. Who may not enter

    The following are not eligible to enter: employees of the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation and members of its volunteer board of directors, together with their spouses, children and children-in-law.

16. Publication of these rules

    These Rules of Play are published online on the raffle website. This page can be printed, or saved as a PDF from any browser, and the printed text is identical to the text shown here.

17. Membership

    Membership is an optional monthly subscription. The following apply:

    1. Every participant confirms agreement with these Rules of Play. A subscription is created only where the opt-in checkbox on the order page has been ticked explicitly.
    2. A subscription may be cancelled at any time by writing to customer support by email. The method of cancellation is disclosed on the order form and in every subscription email.
    3. The stored payment method is charged automatically for the amount selected, for all subsequent draws, until the subscription is cancelled. A list of the draws covered is provided.
    4. A subscription can be created in Ontario only; geofencing is applied.
    5. Cancellation takes effect immediately, no future orders are created, and a confirmation of the cancellation is sent by email. Where the cancellation is made after the charge for the current draw has been taken, it applies from the next draw.
    6. Subscriptions with failed or invalid payments are cancelled automatically.
    7. A subscription remains in force until the participant cancels it.

18. Series dates and deadlines

    The series of draws runs from 30 June 2026 to 25 June 2027. All sales deadlines are 23:59 CST on the day preceding the draw. Tickets purchased before 23:59 CST on the day preceding an Early Bird or Bonus draw are entered in all subsequent Early Bird and Bonus draws in that month and in the Grand Prize draw at the end of that month. Grand Prize sales close at 23:59 CST on the night before the day of the draw. Early Bird, Bonus and Grand Prize draws take place at 10:00 CST on the dates listed below. Sales for the following month open at 11:00 CST after the Grand Prize draw.

19. Schedule of the twelve draws

    Each Grand Prize is half of sales, with a guaranteed minimum prize of $5,000; once ticket sales exceed $10,000 the prize is half of all sales.

    The twelve draws of the 30 June 2026 – 25 June 2027 licence period. All times are CST.

    For Early Bird draws: where the winner is a subscription member, an additional $500 is paid on top of the Early Bird prize.

20. Rescheduling a draw

    If a draw cannot take place on the appointed date, an alternative date and time is selected and the amended information is published on the same website where the ticket was purchased. Any change to a draw date requires the prior approval of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

21. Disputed and fraudulent purchases

    Where a ticket purchase is reported to the card issuer as fraudulent, those tickets are excluded from the draw.

22. Privacy

    The Foundation does not sell, rent or trade personal information to supporters or to any other organisation. How personal information is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy.

23. Problem gambling

24. Assistance and refunds

    Requests for refunds and complaints are sent by email to support@lwdhospitalfoundation.ca. Each request is considered individually. A refund is possible where the request is justified and is received before the draw takes place.
